Senior System administrator (Azure Cloud Platforms and Infrastructure)

Job Summary

The System Administrator’s role is to manage in-house as well as Azure cloud based computer software systems, servers, storage devices and network connections to ensure high availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals and industry best practices. He would be responsible for maintaining business continuity, meeting all company’s data protection policies.

Role/Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Azure cloud based IAAS & PAAS environment (hardware, software, and Infrastructure) to deliver everything from simple cloud-based apps to sophisticated, cloud-enabled enterprise applications.
• Manage storage, identity, governance, virtual networks, and computing on Azure cloud environment
• Installation, configuration, and Administration of Windows servers.
• Installation, configuration, and administration of Hyper V
• Install, upgrade, support & troubleshoot Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and any other authorized applications.
• Managing office 365 tenant without any supervision.
• Proactively manage and maintain server, network, and firewall systems.
• Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including network configuration.
• Provide employees with timely, professional, efficient, and effective technical expertise on systems and network support.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
• Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation
• Should be adaptable to US time zone whenever required to have meetings with onshore counterparts.
• Responsible for production support activities for facilities operations to ensure the security and stability of the environment.
• Participate in Business Continuity Planning and Exercises as needed.
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
• Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as Azure cloud based IAAS and PAAS System Administrator
• Experience on functioning of Networking, Databases, Software, and Servers on Azure Cloud
• Experience in using products such as PowerShell and Office 365 and understand the ways in which these services Integrate with Azure.
• Hands-on experience with network devices such as Switches, Routers, Sophos Firewall, etc.
• A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
• Good knowledge of Windows server 2012/2016/2019
• Good understanding of Azure active directory.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
• Good knowledge of Antivirus and DLP software
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of complete systems development and deployment lifecycle and of all facets of systems administration in a medium to large scale IT operations unit.
• Knowledge on open-source frameworks such as ASP.NET and programming languages such as JavaScript, SQL Server, and HTML5 is preferable.
